June 24, 2019 – Andover, MA – MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced Ophir® StarLab 3.40 at Laser World of Photonics. StarLab 3.40 is easy-to-use laser power/energy measurement software that supports a wide range of new functions, including pulsed power and low frequency (e.g. VCSEL) measurements. The software also supports the newest Ophir laser meters: Centuari, the full-color, touch-screen, dual-channel instrument with analog output, TTL output, and trigger input; and Juno+, the compact USB module that turns a PC into a virtual laser power meter.

StarLab 3.40 provides color-coordinated multi-channel display of data in the form of line plots, bar charts, histograms, and simulated analog needles. Data can be displayed separately or in multiple data sets on one graph. Advanced measurement processing functions include power and energy density based on user-defined beam size, conditioning of measurements (average, offset subtraction, and scale factor), two-channel math, and complex user-defined formulas. Time-synched, multi-channel logs can be output to a file for later review. User-defined pass/fail limits allow selection of upper and lower bounds and generation of final inspection reports. Users can also pre-define a variety of different startup configurations.

StarLab 3.40 supports Ophir’s high accuracy, plug-and-play power/energy meters. Every data point can be logged at up to 10kHz when working with the Centauri or Juno+ meters. StarLab also supports the company’s StarBright, StarLite, Juno, Vega, and Nova II meters; the Pulsar PC interface; and network adapters for transferring laser meter data over Ethernet or wireless Bluetooth connections.

Availability
StarLab 3.40 laser measurement software runs on Windows® 7/8.1/10, 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The software is available now. OEM prices available on request.
